Cat. #0020711: LOUIS PRIMA

Scarce, uncommonly early 8x10-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen in January of 1938, at the very onset of his musical career. In good condition for its age. Exuberant band leader, composer, singer, and trumpeter Louis Prima, who enjoyed a two-decade collaboration with his wife, singer Keeley Smith, lent his distinctive voice to King Louie of the Apes in Disney's 1967 animated classic The Jungle Book.
